RV Life After 2 Months

We follow back!

Our entertainment set up

We love watching movies & games, so we wanted to bring all of our gadgets. Appletv, amazon firestick, playstation4, google tv, direct tv, & our computers & phones. We use a Benq short throw projector connected to a 5 in 1 out hdmi adapter. Connected to that we have our Bose sound bar & sub woofer. We also have a Bose surround sound & multi disc cd player. Our living room projector is 86 inches & is automatic, came with two remotes which we mounted on each side of the couch.

We have a 65 inch screen with a Pico projector. To stream from our phones we bought adapters, hdmi to iphone adapter. To hook it up to pur laptop, we got hdmi to usb adapter. We downloaded a lot of movies to a hard drive for when we don’t have direct tv or wifi.

Our bedroom is completely powered by our 6 100 amp lithium life PO4 batteries. So, at rest stops we can still do work or watch movies.

For our wifi set up/router (which is currently messes up due to playing around with the configurations too much & not being able to reset it.) We have the weboost & cradlepoint router. Cradlepoint requires a subscription now since July 2019 or maybe it was August. It’s a must for updates & support, which we definitely need. The cradlepoint comes with two sim card slots, they are hot spot sims. We use At&t as well as Verizon so that we can use whichever has the strongest signal.

At&t currently only offers a hot spot sim w/5 gb per month for $50, which sucks. Verizon says unlimited, but its only 15 gb for 5 $ per month. After 15gb they throttle you down to 15 kb per second roughly, lol…yea it sucks. You can set the router to switch sim cards when you’ve reached your cap, to avoid overage charges. We were tweaking our router to get better speeds with At&t and forgot to put the 5gb monthly cap back in & git stuck with a thousand dollar phone bill. We thought we were the boondocking wifi wizards, our speeds were incredible w At&t, ugh…learning the hard way sucks!

I think thats enough blogging for tonight. We are in a campground right now with decent free wifi, so we are gonna find a movie on our firestick to watch. πŸ€“πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ» Hope this post brings you hope that its actually pretty easy to still enjoy your entertainment during full time rv life. πŸ™‚
